Harold R. Kruggel

—   Harold Roland Kruggel, age 92, of Good Thunder, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Mapleton Community Home.

  Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Good Thunder. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at NORTHVIEW  North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

  Harold was born May 28, 1920 to Albert and Alma (Blume) Kruggel on the family farm in Good Thunder. Harold was united in marriage to Viona S. Schwantes on June 30, 1948 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Good Thunder.  He was a lifelong farmer on the family farm.  Harold was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, where he had served as a trustee.  He loved fishing, hunting, playing cards with friends, wintering in Lake Havasu, Arizona, building model cars, and antique tractors.

  Harold is survived by one son, Ronnie and his wife, Diane of Good Thunder; five grandchildren, Jamie (Mike) Frank of Good Thunder, Jason (Dorinda) Kruggel of Garden City, Jon Kruggel, Jesse Kruggel, and Jodi Kruggel all of Good Thunder; three great-grandchildren, Alexa and Jocelyn Frank and Liam Kruggel; sister, Sylvia Wendt of Litchfield; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

  Harold was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Viona on November 28, 2004.
