Peter P. "Buster" Hartmann

— Peter P. "Buster" Hartmann, age 87, of LeSueur died on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at the Minnesota Valley Health Center.  He was born on April 29, 1925, at Buckman, Minnesota, to Herbert and Helen (Neuman) Hartmann.  Buster graduated from LeSueur High School in 1943 and then entered the U. S. Navy where he was stationed in Corpus Christie, Texas in the Naval Flight School.  After his discharge he returned to LeSueur and began his career in the family business, Hartmann's Department Store.  He married Harriette Hoehn on August 21, 1947, at St. Ann's Church in Janesville. He retired in 1987 from the store and began employment as a courier for the Minnesota Valley Health Center.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and the LeSueur Country Club.  Buster was on the hospital board for many years.  He enjoyed gardening, especially his flowers, wood working, golfing and fishing trips.

  He is survived by his wife, Harriette, Children; Kevin (Sandy) Hartmann of St. Peter,  Cindy Hartmann of LeSueur, Mary Anne (Doug) Brenke of Mankato, Barb (Tom) Dillon of Jackson, Wyoming, Becky (Fred) Hager of Mankato and Peter (Traci) Hartmann of Ft. Myers, Florida. Grandchildren; Ben, Stephanie and Nick Hartmann, Abby (Rob) Michaelis, Ryan (Elizabeth) and Ashley Brenke, Jenna, Andrew and Bryan Dillon, Peter and Christopher Hager, Karli and Haiden Hartmann.  1 Great-granddaughter, Ava Leigh Michaelis.  Brother, Gary Hartmann of LeSueur and sister-in-law, Colleen Hartmann of Amery, Wisconsin. Many nieces and nephews also survive.  He is preceded in death by his brother, Dan and sisters, Betty Lindgren and Mary Sullivan.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in LeSueur at 11 a.m.  Interment, with military honors by the LeSueur Honor Guard, will be in Calvary Cemetery in LeSueur.  Visitation will be on Sunday, Jan. 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur with a 7 p.m. K of C. Rosary and prayer service. Visitation will continue on Monday morning at the funeral home until 10:45 a.m.
