Arlene Zins-Miska

—   Arlene Zins-Miska, 93, of rural Nicollet died Friday, January 11, 2013 at her home in Nicollet.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday, January 16 at the St. Pauls Catholic Church in Nicollet with Father Edward Ardolf celebrating the Mass.  Burial will follow in the Swan Lake Church of Visitation Cemetery in Brighton Township.  Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Tuesday at St. Pauls Catholic Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  To sign the guest book or to leave an online condolence for her family, visit www.mvfh.org.

  Arlene is survived by her husband, John Jack Miska of rural Nicollet; daughters, Donna (Lenny) Donohue of New Ulm, Marlene (Glenn) Groves of Le Sueur, Brenda (John) Aufderheide of Mankato, Karen (Doug) Woelfel of Bird Island; sons, Eugene (Karen) Zins of rural Nicollet, Don (Sandy) Zins of North Branch; fourteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; step children; step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; one step great great grandchild; sister, Audrey (Joe) Schneider of New Ulm; sister-in-law, Geri Leonard of Nicollet; and by many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Matt in 1980; and by brothers, Ken and Don Leonard.

  Arlene E. Leonard was born August 31, 1919 in Groton, South Dakota to Guy E. and Regina (Grommersch) Leonard.  She attended District 20 Country School until the 8th grade.  On May 2, 1939 Arlene was united in marriage to Matt Zins in Nicollet County.  She worked at ADC in St. Peter and then at B.F. Goodrich, from which she retired.  On September 7, 1985, Arlene was united in marriage to John Jack Miska in Nicollet County.  She was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church in Nicollet and the St. Pauls Ladies Aid.  Arlene was always a farmers wife and an excellent cook and baker.  She loved doing many, many crafts and spending time with her friends and family.  www.mvfh.org
