Roland 'Bud' Kunz,

—   Roland "Bud" Kunz, age 84, of Mapleton, died on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his home.

  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 16 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mapleton with Rev. Vicki Hultine officiating.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  Burial will be at Union Cemetery.  Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

  Bud is survived by his wife Beata "Bea" of Mapleton; son, Gary (Nancy) Kunz of LeCenter; daughters, Linda (Mark) Birr of Good Thunder and Carol (Rick) Bissonette of Yorkville, IL; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Gerholz, Dorothy Bohlke, Marcella "Sally" Ulman, and Viola "Tootsie" Johnson; brother, Kenneth Kunz; sister-in-law, Esther Kunz; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Anna Kunz; brother, Leonard Kunz; and sister, Rosalia Krengel.
