Donald D. Petersen

— Donald D. Petersen, age 68, of St. Peter, MN, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family and friends, on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.  Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato with family greeting visitors 1 hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato at a later date.

 Donald was born July 4, 1944, in Mankato, MN, to Richman and Pearl (Maring) Petersen. He served in the US Army.  On August 2, 1968, he married Joann Furst in Sioux Falls, SD.  Donald was a truck driver and also worked for many years as an auto mechanic for Sears in Mankato.  In is free time he loved to fish, play cards and travel, but especially loved spending time with his family.

  Donald is survived by his wife, Joann; son Jason (Lisa) Petersen of St. Cloud; daughters Michele (Bryan) Baumgartner of Gaylord, Sharman (David) Rothfork of Lake Crystal, Tamela (Dale) Lutgen of Burnsville, Teresa (Bruce) Weinzierl of Chaska, Cindy (Calvin) Miller of Mankato; many grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren;  brothers David (Wilma) Petersen of Mankato, Lars Petersen of St. Peter, Richard (Sharon) Petersen of Mankato, Robert Petersen of Mankato; sisters Darla (Tom) Worden of Mankato and Marie Thurber of Bloomington; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Hans and sister Patricia.
