Donald S. Vosburg

—   Donald S. Vosburg, age 70 of Mankato, died Tuesday July 3, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato.

  Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Northview- North Mankato Mortuary with Rev. John Wilmot officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m., until the 10:00 a.m. service on Saturday at Northview.

  Donald S. Vosburg was born April 11, 1942 in Mankato to Donald V. and Viola (Huebl) Vosburg.  Don enlisted in the US Army and after discharge he took over the family business, Whimpy's Pickles. He was united in marriage to JoAnne M. Jentges, she died July 8, 1974. He married Julie Hickey, they later divorced. Don relocated to Washington State and was employed as a food broker until retirement. He returned home in Mankato to be with family and friends in 2008 to enjoy his later years.

  Don thoroughly enjoyed socializing and making people laugh, his laughter was contagious. He excelled in sports, enjoyed hunting, and going to the horse races. He also spent many enjoyable seasons at the family owned "Duck Shack"

  Donald is survived by his four children, Lisa (Paul) Vosburg - Buhl of Seattle, WA, Angela Andersen, of Atlanta, GA, Don Vosburg of State College, PA, Chris Vosburg of Mankato, MN. Five grandchildren, Justin, Jason, Kayla, Zachary, and Liam; four sisters, Kathleen (Donald) Siebenbruner of Atlanta, GA, Diane (Mike) Lundgren of Mankato, MN,  Maureen (Gary) Warmington of Mankato, MN, Roberta (Ralph) Schweim of Pemberton, MN; two brothers, Steven (Becky) Vosburg of North Mankato, MN, David (Darlene) Vosburg of Mankato, MN; many nieces and nephews.

  Don was preceded in death by his parents and wife, JoAnne
