Glenn C. Hutchinson

—   Glenn Carroll Hutchinson, age 70 of Mankato, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at his home.  

  Memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at Hilltop United Methodist church in Mankato, with Rev. Fred Vanderwerf officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church.  Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.

  Glenn was born February 28, 1942 in Oak Park, IL to Carroll and Marcella Hutchinson.  Glenn graduated from Dyke College in Cleveland Ohio in 1964 with a degree in business.  Glenn worked as a purchasing agent for Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, IL, ending his career with Autec in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

  On November 19, 1977, he was united in marriage to JoAnn (Case) Hutchinson in Lemont, IL.  Glenn was a member of Hilltop UMC and known as a gentle giant.  Glenn will be missed for his dry wit, deep chuckle and mischievous grin.  Everyone was touched by his generous spirit.

  Glenn is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Mankato; sister-in-law, Nancy Hutchinson of Houston, TX; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Carolyn) Case of Onalaska, WI, Kenneth (Ann) Case of Sparta, MO, Gordon Case of Appleton, WI; godchildren, Marilyn Swan and her son Eric Swan of New Ulm; and many special nieces and nephews.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dale Hutchinson.

  Memorials may be sent to Hilltop UMC or South Central College Foundation, 1920 Lee Blvd, North Mankato, MN 56003.
