Henry Herbert Meissner

—   Henry Herbert Meissner, age 96, went to his eternal home on February 16, 2012.

  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato, MN, with Pastor Wayne Eichstadt officiating. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in rural Rapidan, Minnesota. Visitation will be held at the church before the funeral service beginning at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato, MN. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

  Henry was born on a ranch near Copperas Cove, TX, on May 3, 1915, baptized on May 24, 1915, and confirmed in May 1929, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Copperas Cove, TX. He and his family lived in rural Copperas Cove until 1963 when they moved to rural Good Thunder, MN. Henry lived on his farm until age 93. He is survived by five children: Carolyn (Gerhard) Matzke of rural Good Thunder, MN, Margaret (Loren) Matzke of rural Good Thunder, MN, Dr. Laurence (Yvonne) Meissner of Hutto, TX, Dennis (Joanne) Meissner of Georgetown, TX, Annette Rode of Mankato, MN; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

  He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, of 64 years, by parents, Otto and Emma (Teinert) Meissner, granddaughter, Rachel Rode-Campbell and seven siblings.
