Alfred Raymond Hiller

— Alfred Raymond Hiller, age 97, of rural Good Thunder, died Monday, March 4, 2013 at Hillcrest Health Care Center, Mankato.

 Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013, at St. John Lutheran Church, Good Thunder with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer, Jr., officiating.  Visitation will be from 12 -  1:30 p.m, Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Good Thunder. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

 Alfred was born April 5, 1915, to Henry and Emma (Krueger) Hiller in rural Good Thunder.  He was united in marriage to Sophia Regina Doering on September 10, 1941, at the St. John Lutheran parsonage. Alfred and Sophia farmed in the Good Thunder area for 56 years. They were both proud of their egg production and supplied many people with farm fresh eggs.

 Alfred was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder where he served on the finance board and was a member of the church's Men's Club.

 He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his early years and still enjoyed fishing in his later life.

 Alfred is survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sophia on January 24, 2008; and sister, Gertrude in 2008.
