  Gerald "Jerry" T. Farnen, age 79, of North Mankato died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Hillcrest Health Care Center, Mankato.

 Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato with Rev. John Kunz, officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 - 11 a.m., Saturday at the church.  Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.  Memorials may be given to VINE Faith in Action or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

 Gerald was born April 5, 1933, to Joseph Francis and Lydia Marie (LaFrance) Farnen in Virginia, MN.  He graduated from Virginia High School in 1952.  Jerry served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1952-56.  He was united in marriage to Janet Faye Johnson on September 28, 1957, in Virginia, MN.  Jerry worked for National Laboratories as a district sales manager until his retirement in 1993.  He was a member of the North Mankato American Legion.  Jerry enjoyed golfing, reading, and spending time with his family.

 Jerry is survived by his three children; daughter, Lynn (Tim) Sprague of Madison Lake and children, Kelly (Michael) Feekes and Daniel Sprague; daughter, Roxy "Annie" Johnson of Savage and children, Scott Hegg, Brittney Hegg, and Sarah Hegg; son, Joe (Laurie) Farnen of Savage and children, Sam Farnen and Jack Farnen; and several nieces and nephews.

 Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janet on December 22, 1999; and two sisters, Lorna Thompson and Artie Slade.
