Beloved matriarch and friend to many, Florence Peters, met her Savior and her Sam on October, 2012. She entered this world through the family of Peter J. and Martha Heppner on August 14, 1925 in Mt. Lake, MN, where she was later baptized in acknowledgment of her faith. After graduating from Mt. Lake High School in 1943, Florence worked as a dental assistant. In 1946, she married Sam Peters. Together, they made lives for themselves and their children, Sherryl and DeWayne .
Florence contributed to her community by responding to needs of others, hosting many guests, serving on committees at her church and volunteering countless hours at 10,000 Villages and Care and Share. Avocational interests centered around decorating miniature houses, gardening and baking celebration cakes. As a member of the Town and Country Club for over 50 years, she continued to seek education about homemaking and creating a fulfilled live.
Florence's core value was her faith; she was loved vertically so she could love horizontally. She will be remembered as a woman of grace.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband Sam, her parents and an infant brother and infant sister.
She is survived by daughter Sherryl Wolff (Walter) Wolff of Mankato, MN; son DeWayne (Brenda) Peters of Hill City, SD; four grandchildren, Matthew (Kristin) Wolff and their son Ethan of Victoria, MN, Britta (Steven) Dihel and their children Brynn and Tate Mae of Apple Valley, MN, Chad Peters of Mt. Lake and Kelen (Adam) Sohre and their son Gavin of Sartell, MN; sisters Joann (Eugene) Friesen of Mt. Lake, MN, Ruby Sinn of Derby, KS, and a brother Roy (Clara) Heppner of Brainerd, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Blessed be her memory.
Memorials may be dedicated Community Bible Church, Care and Share or The American Cancer Society.
