Ethel Marguerite Thisius, of Corcoran, died peacefully. Ethel was born south of Lake Crystal on the home farm to the late Louis and Marguerite Gilman on October 2, 1930.
She is preceded in death by husband, Thomas K. Thisius and an infant brother.
She is survived by children, Laurie (Brent) Robinson, special daughter, Christine Thisius, LTC Gina Thisius and Todd Thisius; granddaughters, Maya and Amy Robinson; sisters, Aldine Pettis, Dorothy (Leon) Brey and Kathleen (George) Wanke; brothers, Charles (Charlene) and Willard (Sharon) Gilman; many nieces and nephews.
Ethel loved to garden and had a lovely flower and vegetable garden. She loved cars, NASCAR, country and western music and the Over the Hill softball parties. She also loved animals, especially Vinney the Cat and her dog Suesse.
Ethel requested not to have a service, but instead asked that her family and friends come together and celebrate her life. Ethel also requested that donations be made to fund women's cancer research.
Visitation Thur. 10 a.m.-12 noon at the First United Methodist Church, 101 S. Crystal Street, Lake Crystal, Minn. with the graveside service and interment following at the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Minn.
