In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jerry's memory may be directed to the Sacred Heart Educational Endowment Fund.
Jerome Peter was born November 5, 1930 in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota to Pearly and Martha (Von Bank) Larson. He graduated from Sleepy Eye-St. Mary's Catholic High School, and went on to attend Gale Institute in Minneapolis. "Jerry" served in the United States Army Signal Corp during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in Korea from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1953. He was united in marriage on June 7, 1955 to Maris-Stella Mack at Holy Rosary Church in Kranzburg, SD. Jerry had a long career with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. During his 43 years with the railroad he served as Telegrapher, Chief Clerk, and Agent, at many stations from Watertown, SD to Winona, MN.
Jerry and Maris have resided in Waseca for the past 44 years and have been members of Sacred Heart Parish. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus-Council 2768, and an active participant in Eucharistic Adoration at Sacred Heart since it was implemented until recent health prevented him from continuing. Jerry enjoyed traveling, and his special interest was woodworking, so his family and friends have enjoyed the product of his passion for many years. God may have some little unfinished projects, and with a renewed body Jerry will be eager to get back to work!
He is survived by his wife, Maris-Stella, sons, Brent (Barbara) of Mankato, Kent (Lori) of Springfield, VA, Craig of Waseca, and Bradley of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Stephanie Morris of Dodge Center, Brynn Larson of Albert Lea, Tristan Larson of Apple Valley, Tanner and Chase Larson of Norfolk, VA, andTaylor Larson of Springfield, VA; great grandchildren, Nolan, Riley and Stella Morris, Jaegar and Cashus Larson; brother, James (Elizabeth) Larson of Sleepy Eye; many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearly and Martha, and his infant brother, Gerald.
