Cathy Treanor

— Cathy Treanor, age 45, of Mapleton, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester as the result of injuries from an automobile accident.

 Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mapleton.  Burial will be in Sterling Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.  Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

 Cathy was born on October 27, 1967, and is the daughter of Glenda and Verdell Wiertzema and Thomas Fitzgerald (deceased).  She graduated from Worthington High School in 1986.  Since 1999, Cathy was employed with Walmart, with the last three years as manager of the Blue Earth Walmart.  On September 2, 2007, Cathy was united in marriage to Jeff Treanor at Minneopa State Park.  She enjoyed the outdoors, State Parks, camping, playing cards and sneaking off to gamble with her mom.  Cathy was very caring, thoughtful and giving.  She became crafty and would make all kinds of crafts, but would give them all away.  Cathy never kept anything for herself.  She loved her family unconditionally.  As well as being the 'rock' of her family, but also the 'rock' when it came time for fundraising.  Cathy was passionate about the Freedom Run of Minnesota Lake and Relay for Life. These groups said, "she held the group together, was always available and will be dearly missed."  Cathy was always busy helping everybody else, the township duties and making her well known bars and cookies!  She kept it known that nothing in this world could ever stop her from loving her family unconditionally.

 Grateful in having shared in Cathy's life is her husband, Jeff; children: Tony(Allison) Sauer, Nathan Barker, Jerica Beech, Haley Duin, Jordan Treanor and Tayler Treanor; parents: Glenda (Verdell) Wiertzema; brother: John (Heidi) Fitzgerald; sister: Donelle (Joe) Block; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: John (Sandy) Treanor, Verminda (Bruce) Annis and Julie (Kevin) Vetter; five nephews; seven nieces; two great-nephews; and four great-nieces.

 Cathy was preceded in death by her father: Tom; grandparents: Glenn and Ruth Lowe; uncle, Don Lowe; and aunt, Sharon Cimmiyotti.
