  Forest A. Vanlandingham, age 93, of Mankato, died Thursday, November 01, 2012, at Sunrise Cottage of Mankato. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., TODAY, Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour before services. Interment will be in Woodland

Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the American Alzheimer's Foundation.

  Forest was born September 19, 1919, in Drakesville, IA, to Jesse A. and Blanche J. (Fenton) Vanlandingham. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II in Germany. Forest married Gail V. Lee, April 20, 1939, in Clinton, IA. He was a Lineman/ Electrician for the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad. Forest was a long time member of the American Legion, Lorentz Post 11; Morson-Ario V.F.W. Post 9713 the Mankato Moose Lodge 1414 and was a Gallon Club blood

donor.

 He is survived by son, Marlynn Vanlandingham of Fairchild, WI; daughters, Judy Spear of Taylor, MI and Donna (John) Mountain of Waterloo, IA; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Forest was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gail in 2007, son Richard, 2 grandsons, 1 sister and 3 brothers.
