Alice L. Manderfeld

—  Alice L. Manderfeld, age 89, of Mankato, died on Sunday, November 4, 2012. at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 8, at 1:00 p.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Landkamer-Johnson-Boman Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

  Alice was born on December 19, 1922, in Sleepy Eye, MN, to George and Veronica (Weicherding) Windschitl.  She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Sleepy Eye in 1940.  On August 4, 1942, Alice was united in marriage to Robert Manderfeld.  Alice was the "milk lady" at SS Peter and Paul school cafeteria for many years.  She volunteered at the MRCI Thrift Store and the Red Cross.  Alice was a Gold Star Mother and was a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.  She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.  Alice was a very positive person and always had a smile on her face.

  Alice is survived by her son, Richard of Maplewood; daughter, Jeannie (Butch) Gladden of White Bear Lake; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 1 brother; and 2 sisters.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sons, James, Robert Jr., Thomas, and Charles.
