Victoria "Vickie" Wenner

— Victoria "Vickie" Wenner, age 62, of Sleepy Eye, MN, died Monday, November 5th, 2012, at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center.

  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 8th, at 10:30am at St. Marys Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye.

   Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Wednesday and from 7:30-10am on Thursday at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.

  There will be a Parish Prayer Service at 8pm Wednesday at the funeral home.  Msgr. Eugene Lozinski officiating.  Interment will be at St. Marys Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.  Email condolences may be left at

  Victoria "Vickie" Ruth Wenner was born on August 2, 1950, in Slayton, MN, the daughter of Les & Frances "Fran" (Meaden) McCormick. She grew up in Slayton and attended college in Mankato where she met Bernie Wenner. Bernie and Vickie got married on August 20, 1971, in Slayton. Bernie and Vickie had four children, Shawn, Ben, Jesse and Maria. Vickie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. She loved to garden, especially flowers. She also loved exercising and teaching. Vickie enjoyed going to the U of M Arboretum in Chaska. She especially loved spending time with her three grandchildren, visiting with her close group of friends and dancing at weddings.

  She is survived by her husband, Bernie Wenner of Sleepy Eye, children, Shawn (Sara) Wenner of Mapleton, MN, Ben (Vicky) Wenner of Burnsville, MN, Jesse Wenner of Mankato, MN, Maria Wenner &  Julius Jackson of Minneapolis, MN; three grandchildren, Kole, Natalie & Kaya. Brothers & sisters, Jerry McCormick of Iowa Falls, IA, Dan (Paula) McCormick of Pierre, SD, Dale McCormick of Salinas, CA, Mary (Terry) Peterson of Apple Valley, MN, and Craig (Shannon) McCormick of Lakeville, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents.
