Eloise H. Butler, age 91, of Waseca, died on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Born on July 8, 1921, in Blooming Grove Township, Waseca County, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Amy (Fell) Schwanke. She attended school in rural Iosco Township. Eloise married Alvin Butler on April 2, 1945, at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waterville. Over the years she was employed with the E.F. Johnson Co. and Birdseye in Waseca and she also worked as the custodian at the Methodist Church in Waterville. Eloise enjoyed sewing, baking, playing cards, singing in the church choir, gardening and reading. She also enjoyed genealogy, collecting cookbooks and recipes, word seek puzzles and going for drives to visit relatives and friends. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Elysian, Waterville VFW Auxiliary, Waterville Senior Citizens, and the Waseca County Extension Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Bernita Anderson of Owatonna and Judy Graham of Waterville; two grandchildren, Duane (Monica) Anderson of Rochester and Karie Anderson of Elysian; and one great granddaughter, Bailey Grubish. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be held at Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville on Friday, November 9, 2012, from 4-7 PM and continue on Saturday, one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Elysian. Burial will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.
