Marie (Dreyer) More

—   Marie (Dreyer) More, 92, of Mankato died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012 at Shea Rehabilitation Center in San Diego, California.  Funeral services will at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato on Oct. 13, 2012 at 1:30 PM. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Woodland Hills Cemetery.  Arrangements will be handled by Woodland Hills Funeral Home.

  Marie was born July 2, 1920 to Claus and Bena (Klever) Eckhoff in Henning, MN and grew up on the family farm. Marie was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Henning.  She married Melvin Dreyer of Henning on July 5, 1942 just before he joined the Army.  They lived in several different towns and settled in Mankato in 1963.  While raising their 4 boys, Marie worked with Mel in the operation of egg processing and hatcheries, and a parking ramp. After Mel passed away suddenly in 1976, she continued to live and work in Mankato. Marie then married William More in 1984. They lived in Mankato and enjoyed many winters in Texas and summers at their lake cottage. After Bill passed away in 2007, she remained in her home and enjoyed visits from many friends and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed the church card clubs, making afghans, and especially enjoyed her flower gardens. Throughout her life, Marie was active and faithful member in the Lutheran Church.

  Marie is survived by her sons: Wes (Marilyn) Dreyer of San Diego, CA; Stan Dreyer of New Ulm; Steve (BJ) Dreyer of Mankato; and Michael Dreyer of Mankato,  9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sister: Frieda Harders of Rushmore, MN; brother: Raymond (Betty) Eckhoff of Brooklyn Center, MN; sister-in-law Esther Dreyer of Henning, MN and sister-in-law Nory (Frank) Johnson of St. Paul, MN; many nieces and nephews;  and all of her extended loved ones from her marriage to Bill More, especially his daughter, Cathy (Gary) Iverson of Mankato and their family and sister-in-law Marjorie (Leroy) Pike of Hinkley, MN.  She was preceded in death by her husbands: Mel and Bill; brother, Albert; sisters: Reka and Bernice, nephew, Dean Johnson.
