Emily O. Friedrich

—   Emily O. Friedrich, age 77 of Waterville, died on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

  Born on December 26, 1934 in West Concord, Minnesota, Emily is the daughter of Charles and Edith (Dale) Cutlip.  She was raised in West Concord and Faribault and graduated from Faribault High School in 1953.  In 1954 she graduated from Practical Nursing School in Red Wing, MN and became an LPN.  She married Gordon Friedrich in 1956 and they made their home in Rosemount, MN with their three daughters.  Emily worked as an LPN and later a cook for Rosemount Schools for ten years in order to be close to her daughters.  Emily and Gordon later divorced and she moved to Faribault, MN, where she was a live-in companion for three years.  She moved to Waterville, MN where she retired and took care of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her dogs, and became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  Emily enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up and attending their sports activities.  She was very active and a huge part of their lives.  She loved spending time watching her dogs Daizey, Mandy, Duchess, and Ryder.  She loved visiting with her friends and updating her many relatives with letters.  She also enjoyed playing solitaire, listening to music from KDHL.  Emily always made sure everyones needs were met before her own.

  Emily is survived by her daughters, Crystal Meyer of Northfield, Gale Friedrich of Waterville, and Jan (Wayne) Wilmes of Waterville; five grandchildren, Nicole Friedrich, Clayton Wilmes, Melissa Meyer, Arthur Karow Jr, and Brandon Karow, and two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Siana Friedrich.  She was preceded in death by her parents and many other relatives.

  Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville, with Rev. David Mumme officiating.  Family will greet friends for one hour before the service at the funeral home. www.dennisfuneralhomes.com.
