  Gladys Magedanz, age 97, of Le Sueur, died Friday, November 9, 2012, at The New Aldaya nursing home in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wed., November 14 at the Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church on Wed.  Interment will be in Mound Cemetery in Le Sueur.

  Gladys was born on December 19, 1914, to Adolphus and Myrtie (Sackett) Fortner in Viola, MN.  She married Meinard Magedanz on December 4, 1935.  They farmed in Tyrone Township of Le Sueur County until 1988 when they moved to Le Sueur.  Gladys entered Cedar Falls Lutheran Home in 2006.  

  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother; three sisters; foster parents and foster brother.

  Gladys is survived by her children, Myron (Judy) Magedanz of Valrico, FL,  Phyllis (Jerry) Kuehn of St. Peter, MN, Elaine (Dave) Prail of Cedar Falls, IA, and Gwen Hahn of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur.
