Gary L. Gilberto, Sr., age 59, of St. Peter, MN, died Monday, July 9, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN surrounded by his family. He was born in Janesville, WI on Sept. 9, 1952, the son of Carmie and Helen (Tamburo) Gilberto of Janesville, WI. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He married Della Helgeson on August 8, 1981, in Edgerton, WI. He worked for many years as an electrical draftsman in Wisconsin and Minnesota until health problems prohibited. Gary enjoyed camping, playing with his dogs and especially spending time with his family.
Gary is survived by his wife, Della Gilberto of St. Peter, MN; 3 sons: David (Mandee) Gilberto of Anoka, MN, Jesse (Sarah) Gilberto of Mankato, MN, and Gary Jr. of Belle Plaine; 2 daughters, Connie (Aaron) Schneider of Fort Collins, CO and Angelica Tuma of Bloomington, MN; 4 grandchildren: Noah, Gabee, Caleb, and Toni; many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jeffrey Gilberto.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Schneider Apfel Schneider & Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, with Father John Auby officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the hour of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
