Werner Joseph Jansen

—   Werner Joseph Jansen, age 89 of Mankato, died Monday, July 9, 2012 at Pathstone Living, Mankato.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Friday, July 13, 2012 at Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 816 Hubbel Ave., Mankato. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm with a 4:00pm prayer service at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Dr., and continue one hour prior to service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.

  Werner was born November 26, 1922 to Henry and Anna (Bult) Jansen in Ghent, MN. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Tacheny on September 3, 1949. Werner was a farmer for 53 years, but had also done some construction work. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church since 1973 and was also a member of the Morson Ario and VFW.

  Werner is survived by his wife Charlotte; children, Carolyn (Paul) Wilberg; Ronald (Louise) Jansen; Susanne (Ken) Cordes; Bonnie Jansen; Deanna (Hugh) Reilly; Daniel (Kathleen) Jansen; Robert Jansen; Patricia (Scott) Martens; Jeffrey (Karla) Jansen; Lisa (Kevin) King; Renae (Mark) Schmitz; Michelle (John) Griswold; Michael (Jodie) Jansen; 37 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Hubert Jansen; Mary Popp; Anthony Jansen; James Jansen; Jane Jansen; many nieces, nephews and friends.

  Werner was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna; siblings, Antionette Pulles; Theresa Santos; Ray Jansen and Joseph Jansen.
