Gerald Brandt, age 88, Mapleton, MN, died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Mayo Health System, Mankato Hospital. Private family services will be held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells, MN. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family with arrangements.
Gerald was born July 24, 1923 in Wells, MN, the son of Erwin and Caroline (Leuttke) Brandt. Gerald is survived by his wife, Wanda; children, Joan Gossett, Robert (Julie), Steve, and Letitia (Kelly) Halvorson; brothers, Henry and Erwin Jr.; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry; daughter, Valerie Covey; grandson, Paul Covey; and brothers, Donald and Carlyle.
