Marcella R. Friedrichs

—   Marcella R. Friedrichs, age 84 of Mankato, died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.  Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday at the Church of St. Peter with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.  Landkamer Johnson-Boman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

  Marcella Rose was born June 29, 1928 to Joseph and Matilda (Biedscheid) Weingartz in Mankato.  She was united in marriage to Paul Friedrichs on February 7, 1948.  Marcella had worked and retired at Midwest Electric.  She enjoyed going to church, spending time with her family, baking, playing cards, and going for car rides. Grandma was known for baking her homemade buns.

  Marcella is survived by four children, Randy (Candy), Terry (Joenilla), Tim (Annette), Pat (Craig) Nielsen; daughter-in-law, Sandra; son-in-law, Danny Wilson; twenty two grandchildren; forty four great-grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

  Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; two sons, Joe and Elmer; daughter, Gloria Wilson; granddaughter, Candie Marie Wilson; three brothers and three sisters.
