   Norbert D. Schroeder, age 83, of Wells, MN, died Monday, December 10, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato, MN.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at 10:30 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Pastor Kathy Fullarton will officiate and burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells with Military Honors accorded by the Wells Color Guard.

 Norbert was born June 10, 1929, in Minnesota Lake, the son of Oscar and Martha (Dylla) Schroeder.  Norbert attended St. Casimir School.  On October 24, 1954, he was united in marriage to Arlyss Hinz in Fairmont, MN.

  Norbert worked at Wilson's Foods in Albert Lea, MN.  He served in United States Army during World War II and the Korean War.  He was a member of the Wells VFW and American Legion Post, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  He loved to fish and garden, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

    Norbert is survived by his wife Arlyss of Wells; daughter, Barb (Stan) Huettl of Mankato; 2 grandchildren: Jennifer (Jeremy) Swenson of N. Mankato; and Matthew Huettl (special friend Abby Krause) of Mankato; 2 sisters-in-law: LaVaun Schroeder and Lucille Schroeder, both of Wells; 3 brothers-in-law: Willis (Ivadel) Hinz of Mesa, AZ, Elloy Hinz of Fairmont, and Lyle Hinz (Janet Drews) of Albert Lea, MN; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
