Cheri Danielle Wencl, age 40, of St. Peter, died suddenly on Monday, December 10, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.

  Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter with Rev. Charles Christensen, officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Friday at St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel and will continue one hour before service at church on Saturday.  Burial will be in Kasota Hill Cemetery.

  Cheri was born March 2, 1972, to William L. and Cynthia M. (Hawkes) Wencl in St. Peter.  She graduated from Montgomery Lonsdale High School in 1990 and from Ripon College, Ripon, WI, in 1994.  Cheri was employed by Jones Metal Products in Mankato as a Human Resource Manager.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir.  She was active with the Women's Leadership Group at the YWCA, the American Heart Association as a volunteer, and the Autism Walk.  Cheri enjoyed spending time with her cat, crocheting, painting, reading, arts and crafts, theatre, and was a talented musician - playing french horn and singing.

  Cheri is survived by Riley; her parents, William Wencl, Cyndi (Dick) Allen; brother, Bill (Nicole) Wencl; niece and nephew, Alexis and Billy; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; extended family and many friends.

  Cheri was preceded in death by her grandparents; and an aunt, Darlene Freerksen.
