Judy Ann Murilla, age 67, of Mankato was called home to her Lord, peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family, on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Immanuel ˆ St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Paul Lauer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Madison Lake. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Landkamer Johnson Boman Funeral Home in Mankato. Visitation continues one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
Judy was born March 27, 1943, in rural Hanska to Hans and Jeanette (Vee) Ellanson. She was united in marriage to Robert Murilla in October of 1965. Judy has worked for Tony Downs Food, Hager’s Manufacturing, KATO Motel, Harry Meyering Center, Shari Candies, and was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mankato. Judy loved her pets, and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, cooking, gardening, walking, collecting dolls and spending time with her grandchildren and family. Judy was so caring that she always went that extra mile to help anyone and everyone in need
Judy is survived by her five daughters, Lori Spoors of Mankato, Karen Murilla and special friend, Dale Birr, of Garden City, Sheila Emmers and special friend, Gary Birr, of Sedan, MN, Leah (Jim) Erickson of Mankato, Roberta Mathern and special friend, Rich King, of Mankato; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, June Morgan of Madelia, Vickie Larson of St. James; five brothers, Gordon (Connie) Ellanson of Le Center, Ted Ellanson of Madelia, Calvin Ellanson, Allen Ellanson of Wyoming, Eugene (Deb) Rusten of Madelia; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1981, grandson, and special friend, Jim Lorenz.
Judy will be greatly missed by her family and friends and will be in our hearts forever.
