Betty Michels

   Betty Michels, age 58, of St. Peter, died on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at her home with family.

  Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be from 4:00 -  7:00 on Friday at the church with a prayer service at 6:30. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers memorials to MCHS Mankato Hospice or John Ireland School.

  Betty was born on July 16, 1954, in St. Peter to Albert and Luella (Johnson) Krisatis. She graduated from St. Peter High School in 1972. On April 20, 1974, she was united in marriage to Warren Michels. They made their home in St. Peter where they raised their family. Betty also worked at various places in St. Peter, including: Econofoods, Hardware Hank, Onan and John Ireland School. She loved working with the students at John Ireland and also enjoyed ceramics, boating, fishing, and her puppy. Most of all, she enjoyed her family and grandchildren.

  Betty is survived by her husband Warren of St. Peter; children: Michelle (Jesse) Artmann of St. Peter and Keith (Stacey) Michels of Mankato; grandchildren: Alexis, Tyler and Andrew Artmann and Kaitlin, Briahna and Stephani Michels; sisters: Carol Potz of Kasota and Joan Bonham of Le Sueur; and many nieces and nephews.

  She was preceded in death by her parents a brother-in-law and a nephew.
