  Private family graveside services for Richard L. Bushman, 71, of Fairmont, MN, will be held Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fairmont.  Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.  Richard passed away Sunday morning, March 3, 2013, at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Fairmont.  The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

 Richard Lee Bushman was born September 3, 1941, in Butterfield, MN, the son of LeRoy and Eleanor (Morey) Bushman.  He received his education from the St. Paul's Lutheran Parochial School in Truman, MN.

 On June 18, 1963, Richard was united in marriage to Nyla Slater in Truman, MN.  To this union, two daughters were born, Debra and Vickie.  On August 26, 1985, Richard was united in marriage to Dorothy Plath.  Together the couple made their home in Fairmont where they were blessed with 27 years of marriage.

 Richard worked for many years as the night production manager of ConAgra, Armour and Fairmont Foods.  He retired on July 11, 2004.  In his spare time, Richard enjoyed playing softball, golfing, hunting, fishing, and woodworking.  He cherished time spent with his family and will be greatly missed by those that loved him and called him friend.

 Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Dorothy Bushman of Fairmont, MN; two daughters, Debra Meyer of Fairmont, MN, and Vickie Bushman and special friend, Jeff Omodt of Eagle Lake, MN; step-sons, Robert Plath and his wife, Dorothy of Fairmont, MN, and Rodney Plath and his wife Marta of Fairmont, MN; grandchildren, Brandon Meyer and Savannah Meyer; great-grandchild, Tanner; step-grandchildren, Darren Plath and special friend, Suzanne of Washington, D.C, Stephanie Strenge and her husband, Tim of Fulda, MN, Jody Schmidt and her husband, Mark of Virginia, Wendy Plath of San Antonio, TX, and Jason Plath and his wife, Sarah of Nicollet, MN; 9 step-great-grandchildren; half-brothers, Dale Bushman and Lee Bushman both of Bemidji, MN; half-sister, Bonnie Fisher of Bemidji, MN; brother-in-law, Martin Meyer of Truman, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

 Richard was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Eleanor Bushman and a sister, Dorothy Meyer of Truman, MN.

  The family requests memorials be given in Richard's name to Hospice.
