Bernadette M. Bibbs, age 87 of Mankato died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Peter Nosbush officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Mankato Mortuary with a 4 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association, SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
Bernadette Maxine was born April 18, 1922, in Fulda to William and Louise (Prigge) Toohey. She was graduated from Good Counsel High School. On October 24, 1945, she was united in marriage to Edwin R. Bibbs in Mankato. She was a homemaker for her family and had been employed with National Citizens Bank and H.L. Green Dime Store. Her passions included her family, involvement and membership at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the TOPS club, and playing cards.
Bernadette is lovingly survived by four children and their spouses, Jeanette and John Barsness of North Mankato, Tim and Pam Bibbs of Mankato, Jennifer and Tim Johnson of Indianapolis, IN, Brian and Kendy Bibbs of Mankato; two daughter-in-laws, Bonnie (Bill) Kumm of Northville, MI, Anne Bibbs of Kasson; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Monica (Jim) Haack of North Mankato, Charlotte Mullin of Mankato; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bernadette was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin in 2000; two sons, Greg in 1976 and Jeff in 1993.

Margaret C. Buck, known to many as “Mardy”, died peacefully on February 18, 2010, at age 87 due to complications of dementia. Mardy had been a resident at Sunrise Cottage of Mankato for the past 18 months. She was predeceased by her parents, the Reverend Harry W. Buck and Anna Mayer Buck, her sister Lucy Buck Lehman, her brother-in-law Ken Lehman, and her devoted friend, Dr. Jane Ann Roberts.
