She died at Mankato House Health Care Center where she had been a resident for the past few weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Mt Olive Lutheran Church, Mankato, Pastor John Petersen officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 18, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Mankato, and one hour before the service on Saturday. Following the service, burial will be held at Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato.
Marjorie Helen Lund was born to Arthur and Ella (Oium) Lund on September 23, 1922 in Trempleau County, WI. She was baptized into the Christian faith at Chimney Rock Lutheran Church in Eleva, WI. She was confirmed May 31, 1936, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, WI, by Pastor L.S. Guttebo. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School.
On August 9, 1942, she was married to Milton H. Otto at Concordia Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, WI. She was a faithful pastor’s wife, following her husband as he served congregations in Cottonwood, MN and Lawler, IA. They moved to Mankato in 1957 when he began teaching at Bethany Lutheran College and Seminary. For many years she was employed by the J.C. Penney Co., and after retirement continued serving her church and community in many ways.
Marjorie is survived by five children: Margaret (Ernest) Lillo of Eagle Lake, Elizabeth (Ross) Hermanson of Wells, Ruth (Dwight) Hildebrandt of Faribault, Paul (Carolyn) Otto of Spicer, and Lois Otto of Mankato; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elaine Orendorff of Eau Claire, WI; brothers-in-law Marvin (Lorraine) Otto, Alta, IA and Arnold (Norma) Otto, Albert City, IA; sisters-in-law Dorothy Winterhof, Alta, IA, and LaVonne (Mike) Sievers, Storm Lake, IA; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton, in 1982; and two great-grandchildren in infancy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Milton and Marjorie Otto Scholarship Fund at Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato or Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Mankato.

Margaret C. Buck, known to many as “Mardy”, died peacefully on February 18, 2010, at age 87 due to complications of dementia. Mardy had been a resident at Sunrise Cottage of Mankato for the past 18 months. She was predeceased by her parents, the Reverend Harry W. Buck and Anna Mayer Buck, her sister Lucy Buck Lehman, her brother-in-law Ken Lehman, and her devoted friend, Dr. Jane Ann Roberts.
