Maynard C. “Smokey” Miller, age 75, of Wells, died Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at Parkview Care Center in Wells, MN.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 15, 2008, at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Wells, MN. Visitation will be Thursday, August 14, 2008 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Pastor Paul Woolverton will officiate and burial will be in Dunbar Memorial Cemetery, Minnesota Lake Twp., Faribault County, MN.
Maynard C. “Smokey” Miller was born January 2, 1933, the son of August and Lydia (Roesler) Miller in Waseca County, MN. Maynard farmed his whole life in the Wells area. He enjoyed collecting tools. He was mechanically-minded and assisted his neighbors with farm work. Maynard enjoyed mowing lawn on his John Deere. He was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church in Wells. He enjoyed playing cards and watching TV.
He is survived by 2 sisters: Harriet and her husband Vernon Swenson of Wells, MN, Dolores and her husband Ray Dahnert of Waseca, MN; 1 brother: Darold and his wife Erlinda Miller of Wells, MN; 2 nieces: Marlene Culbertson of Wells, MN, Jill (John) Ledbetter of San Marcos, TX; 2 nephews: Randy (Deb) Swenson of Mendota Heights, MN, Jeffrey (Laura) Dahnert of Lawrence, KS; 2 great-nephews: Joshua (Erin) Swenson of Mendota Heights, MN, Bill Swenson — serving in Iraq; 1 great-niece: Holly Swenson of Mendota Heights, MN; 1 great-great niece: Kaylee Swenson of Mendota Heights, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister in infancy, one niece: Lisa Rae Dahnert, one nephew: Don Culbertson, one great-nephew: Jason Culbertson and one great-niece: Sarah Culbertson.

Margaret C. Buck, known to many as “Mardy”, died peacefully on February 18, 2010, at age 87 due to complications of dementia. Mardy had been a resident at Sunrise Cottage of Mankato for the past 18 months. She was predeceased by her parents, the Reverend Harry W. Buck and Anna Mayer Buck, her sister Lucy Buck Lehman, her brother-in-law Ken Lehman, and her devoted friend, Dr. Jane Ann Roberts.
