June Hamann

She was born February 18, 1915, in Pine City the daughter of Guy and Anna (Penheiter) Hendricks. June graduated from Mapleton High School. She married Carl Hamann Sept. 18, 1935, at the Danville Lutheran Church in Minnesota Lake. The couple farmed near Mapleton until their retirement. Carl preceded June in death in 1983 and in 1986 she moved to Owatonna. June sold Avon for many years.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Owatonna and a charter member of the Home Extension of Blue Earth County. June enjoyed flower gardening, collecting dolls and traveling. She took great pride in her knitting and crocheting.

June is survived by her granddaughters, Sheila Gentry of Owatonna, Tamara (and Sam) Dirdak of Exeter, CA; grandson, Jeff Weiland of Reedley, CA; great grandchildren, Katie Nelson, Christopher Gentry, Zac Dirdak, Abby Dirdak, Nathan Dirdak; great great grandchildren, Jace, Shyler, Drayten; nieces, Sandy (and Bill) Blackley of Afton, Phyllis (and Lloyd) Piepho of Shakopee, Trip (and Andy) Reitcel of Clive, IA, Sharon (and Roger) Kallroos of Minneapolis, Shirley (and Stan) Helm of Long Beach, CA; nephews, Loren (and Joanne) Prange of Overland Park, KS, Ted (and Pat) Prange of Mankato, Terry (and Sandy) Prange of New Ulm, and many great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8pm and on Friday from 10-11am. Funeral services will be held August 29, 2008 at 11:00am at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
