Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2008 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Jack Dahl officiating. Burial will be held in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Friday. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Stanley Robert Gove was born to Harold and Jessie (College) Gove on November 21, 1928, at Mountain Lake, MN. Stan graduated from Bingham Lake High School in 1946. He farmed with his parents on a farm by Mountain Lake until he was drafted in the Korean Conflict in 1951-1952. On December 19, 1951, he was united in marriage to Violette Sneer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake, MN. With this marriage, three sons were born. Robert, Gary, and Dan. Stanley was employed in the gas business until his retirement with Minnegasco in 1989. He was a member of the Mountain Lake Legion and Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Mankato. His hobbies included golfing and watching various sporting events.
Survivors include his son, Robert (Laura) of Minneapolis; brothers, Ronald (Audrey) of Springfield, MO, Allan of Sultana, CA; sister Sharon Bednar of Coon Rapids, MN; grandson Zachary of Eden Prairie, MN; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Violette (2005); and sons, Gary in (1988) and Dan in (2003).

Margaret C. Buck, known to many as “Mardy”, died peacefully on February 18, 2010, at age 87 due to complications of dementia. Mardy had been a resident at Sunrise Cottage of Mankato for the past 18 months. She was predeceased by her parents, the Reverend Harry W. Buck and Anna Mayer Buck, her sister Lucy Buck Lehman, her brother-in-law Ken Lehman, and her devoted friend, Dr. Jane Ann Roberts.
