LeRoy Delmar Olson entered paradise on Nov.13, 2008. He was 65 years old and died at his home in Mankato, MN.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 17, 2008 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. John Petersen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Sunday at Mount Olive Lutheran Church and will continue one hour before service on Monday. Memorials are preferred to Mount Olive Lutheran School. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
LeRoy, known as Lee by family and friends, was born in Minneapolis, MN, on Dec. 4, 1942, to Delmar and Dorothy (Kingstrom) Olson. He was a 1967 graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School and his internship was at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul. His residency in Radiology was at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis. Lee was united in marriage to Rebecca Bloom on Sept.14, 1968 in Wayne, MI, and their marriage was blessed with two wonderful children, Spencer and Annette.
From 1972-1974 he was a Radiologist in the United States Air Force serving at the F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, WO. He continued to use his God-given skill and expertise as a Radiologist at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato and at the Mankato Clinic beginning in 1974. He continued his work there until 1993.
Lee was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Mankato, MN. He loved studying the Bible and in his daily walk with God he always looked for opportunities to share the Gospel with others. He was known for his quick wit and humor. His family and friends were frequently reminded of his caring spirit and compassion for helping those who were suffering. He enjoyed many hobbies during his life: Photography, skiing, rollerblading, and boating at Lake Washington, and he really enjoyed the opportunity to get away and spend time at his mobile home in Republic, MO.
Lee was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, deeply loved and treasured by his family and friends. His love, presence, and guiding hand in the lives of his loved ones will be forever remembered and cherished.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Becky of Mankato; son, Spencer (Stacy) Olson and their children, Noelle and Luke of Mankato; daughter, Annette (Lee) Krengel and their children, Jack and Nina of Gainesville, FL; mother, Dorothy Olson of Chaska; mother-in-law, Evelyn Bloom of Mankato; sister, Barb (John) Force of Chaska; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Mark) Lubenow of San Antonio, TX. LeRoy was preceded in death by his father, Delmar Olson; and father-in-law, Carl Bloom.

Margaret C. Buck, known to many as “Mardy”, died peacefully on February 18, 2010, at age 87 due to complications of dementia. Mardy had been a resident at Sunrise Cottage of Mankato for the past 18 months. She was predeceased by her parents, the Reverend Harry W. Buck and Anna Mayer Buck, her sister Lucy Buck Lehman, her brother-in-law Ken Lehman, and her devoted friend, Dr. Jane Ann Roberts.
