Richard ‘Tollie’ Thomas Tollefson

He passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 5 p.m. at his home in Harned, Kentucky from a heart attack. He will be missed by all who knew him very much.

Richard was a former member of the Norwegian Grove Lutheran Church. He attended school in Gaylord, MN and graduated from St. Peter High School in 1970. He worked at Mankato State University and LeSueur foundry for awhile before starting his semi-truck driving career. He lived in Colorado for a few years where he drove truck for Universal Forest Products and also hauled gasoline tankers. He then moved back to Minnesota where he worked for Wally’s Oil. He then moved to Mankato where he worked for Jensen Transport hauling empty propane tanks across several states. He then received a job offer from Roger and Joey Crist of Crist Propane Inc. in Irvington, Kentucky, which he accepted and also moved to Kentucky hauling empty propane tanks. He was very happy working for Roger, Rachael and son Joey Crist. Not only as great bosses, The Crist family and his co-workers, who lovingly called him “Tollie” all became great friends and thought the world of Richard and Gizmo, Richard’s small pet dog and co-pilot who accompanied him everywhere he went. Gizmo was in an accident in the street about a month ago and is now in “doggie heaven”. Richard enjoyed collecting metal classic cars and semi-tractor trailers, which decorated his walls at his home. He also enjoyed visiting his brothers, sister and all of the relatives as often as he could on his travels. Richard had a big heart and always made time to talk on the phone or visit with friends and family. He had several motorcycles during his lifetime and really enjoyed riding his as often as he could. Trenton-Dowell Funeral Home Hardinsburg, KY handled arrangements, Cremation took place at Owensboro Memorial Gardens Crematory Kentucky.

Memorial Services to be held at the Red Men Lodge, 412 S. 3rd St., St. Peter, MN. On Monday December 29th 2008 from 2-6 p.m. Memorial at 4 p.m. Please enter through rear entrance.
