Adeline “Bubbles” Cunningham, age 89 of Waseca, died on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Lake Shore Inn, Waseca.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 20th at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Fr. Martin Schaefer, celebrant.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca, and will continue on Friday afternoon from 12:30 until the hour of service, at church. There will be a 5:00 p.m. Catholic Daughter rosary Thursday afternoon at McRaith Funeral Home.
Adeline Gertrude was born on July 21, 1919, in Waseca, Minnesota, to Herman and Kate (Angle) Kuehnel. Adeline “Bubbles” graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Waseca. She was united in marriage to Marion “Slim” Cunningham on June 5, 1945 at Sacred Heart Church in Waseca. Bubbles and Slim resided in Waseca their entire married life. Over the years Bubbles worked for various local businesses including waitressing at The Rendezvous and The Powell House. She was a life long member of Sacred Heart Church in Waseca, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America-Court Sacred Heart #1424 (past Regent). Bubbles was a former member of the Waseca American Legion Auxiliary #228, the V.F.W. Sweet-Sommers Auxiliary # 1642, and the Waseca Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #3753. She volunteered her time to the Minnesota Fire Fighters Relief Association. Bubbles was an avid reader, enjoyed following Minnesota Gopher sports, and traveling, especially her trip to Ireland.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Heidi) Cunningham of Farmington, Susan (Gary) Hanson and Kathy Splett, of Waseca; by her grandchildren Joette (Jerry) Gleason of Waseca, Cindy Johnson of Waseca, Ben Hanson of Eagan, Bridget Hanson of Hudson, WI, Steve (Kelli) Hanson of Sioux Falls, SD, Scott Hanson of Waseca, Becky Hanson of Waseca, Nick (Jillian) Cunningham of Marietta, OH, Amanda Cunningham of Palatine IL, and Megan Cunningham of Farmington; by her six great-grandchildren, and great-great-granddaughter; her sister Edna “Toots” Nelson of Walker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband in 1982; by four brothers and one sister, and two brothers at infancy.
