Marjorie E. (Lurth) Augustinovich

Marjorie E. (Lurth) Augustinovich, 67, of Cleveland, MN, went to her home in heaven peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2009, at ISJ Hospital in Mankato. She was a beloved mother, sister, teacher and friend.

Marge was born on July 27, 1941, to Mel A. and Luella (Stockton) Lurth of Saint Peter, MN. After graduating from Saint Peter High School in 1959, Marge attended Minnesota State University in Mankato. Shortly after earning a degree in education, she moved to Phoenix, AZ, and started working at Mountain Bell Telephone Company. In 1994, she moved her family to Cleveland, where she began working for the Saint Peter School District. Over the years, Marge spoke about the importance of getting to know children on an individual level and encouraging them to do their best. She took great pride in mentoring and guiding students throughout her career. Marge’s ability to positively touch the lives of people extended well beyond her work. She was an active in the Cleveland Church of Christ and dedicated countless hours tutoring and advising children in the Cleveland School District as a volunteer. She also understood how to be a great friend — always ready to listen, while offering encouragement, concern, and praise. Marge was beloved by her family, who benefited from her unique brand of humor, compassion and honesty. Marge loved her daughter LeeAnn with all her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son Mel “Buster” Lurth, and a brother Mel “Buzz” Lurth, and brother-in-law, Leo Splett. She will be lovingly missed by her daughter LeeAnn (Greg) Welch of Buffalo, MN; two sisters, MaryJane Splett of Waterville, and Linda (Dave) Frost of Phoenix, AZ; one brother, David (Linda) Lurth of Kasota; as well as many other family and friends. Marge will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Please join us for the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 6 at Cleveland Church of Christ. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday at St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
