Phyllis Elaine Jensen

Phyllis Jensen, 79, of Delavan, died Friday, October 23, 2009, at United Hospital in St. Paul with her family by her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winnebago, with Father Mark McNea officiating. Burial will be in Rice Lake Cemetery at rural Delavan. Visitation will be at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago on Monday, October 26, 2009, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. She was born June 19, 1930, at Delavan, the daughter of Willard and Elsie (Ricke) Chaffee. Phyllis graduated from Delavan High School in 1948 and then attended cosmetology school in the Twin Cities. She married William Jensen in 1951 and they were life-long residents of Delavan. Phyllis had a beauty shop in her home for over 30 years and assisted her husband in managing the Delavan Municipal Liquor Store until his retirement. Then she spent years being her husband’s companion and caregiver.

Phyllis is survived by her son, William (Dori) Jensen of West Salem, WI; son, Thomas (Ginny) Jensen of Sartell; daughter, Cindy (Bob) Gospeter of Eagle Lake; daughter, Lynn (Rob) Kosloske of Apple Valley; twelve grandchildren, Jeremy Jensen, Emily Pollard, Grady Jensen, Molly Jensen, Cassie Gospeter, Carrie O’Hearn, Callie Urban, Chris Jensen, Andy Jensen, Chole Jensen, Loren Kosloske, Megan Kosloske; two great grandchildren, Tavin Doyea and Jackson Pollard; brother, Willard (Bert) Chaffee of Omaha, NE; brother, Norm (Sue) Chaffee of White Bear Lake; sister, Beth Langworthy of Delavan; sister-in-law Lorraine Chaffee of Delavan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Jensen in 2004; brother, Roger Chaffee, and brother-in-law Harley Langworthy.

In Liew of flowers, memorials will be donated to the Delavan Fire and Rescue.
