Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. There will be a motorcycle precession to the cemetery (weather permitting) honoring Charlie and his love of the ride. Friends may visit with family 5-8 p.m. Friday at Landkamer Johnson-Boman Funeral Home, 825 S. Front St. Mankato.

Charlie, age 57, passed away November 5, 2009, at his home from complications of a stroke he suffered on September 12, 2009. Charlie was born November 23, 1951, in Mt. Lake, MN, to Arthur E. and Norma (Ysker) Wall. He was a graduate of Mt. Lake High School and Pipestone Vocational School in Sales and Management. On June 14, 1975, he married the love of his life, Rosy Marie Linscheid, of Butterfield, MN. In the spring of 1976, Charlie had the opportunity of purchasing Dick’s Shoe Hospital from Ben Dick, in Mt. Lake, MN. He later renamed the business, Chuck’s Cobbler Shop. In 1986, Charlie and his family moved to Mankato and purchased Misch’s Shoe Repair from Stanley and Veronica Christ. Misch’s was located at 527 S. Front St. Mankato, MN until 1996, when Charlie sold the building downtown and moved the business to 1310 Madison Ave. where he rented space in the Red Wing Shoe Store. In early fall of 2006 the business moved one more time to 620 N. Victory Drive, one block from the previous location. Charlie had been repairing shoes for 33 yrs at the time of his untimely passing. Although Charlie lived with pain daily, he never allowed his pain to get in the way of bringing a smile to your face or help make your day brighter. He was known by his family, friends and loyal customers as one of the kindest, most sincere, caring, helpful, and uplifting person they had known. Charlie was always there to greet you with an awesome smile and acknowledge at least one positive thing about you. After purchasing Misch’s and moving to Mankato, Charlie, Rosy, Mark and Stacey worked side by side building their business. In 1996 their son Mark, officially joined the business and has been apprenticing under Charlie ever since. Charlie was a member of the Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato. He was forever sharing his faith with anyone who would listen. He was bound and determined to bring Jesus into your life. As a hobby, Charlie enjoyed working with bullet reloading as well as going to the range. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and had taken many trips a ross the country. He had a goal of having been in all of the lower 48 with his Honda Gold wing trike, which he missed by two states. His first love though, was spending precious time with his grandchildren, reading books or just holding them as they talked together.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Rosy; son, Mark (Beth) Wall, Mankato; daughter, Stacey (Ben) Spain, Bothell WA; three grandchildren: Abe (Mark) Wall, Mankato, Isaiah and Hannah (Stacey) Spain, Bothell WA; parents Arthur and Norma Wall, Mt. Lake MN; mother-in-law, Ursula Linscheid, Lake Crystal MN; brothers, Byron (Terri) Wall, Mt. Lake MN, Curtis (Debra) Wall; Mt. Lake MN, Dean (Sherry) Wall; Mt Lake MN; brothers-in-law, Steve (Rachel) Earll, Colorado Springs, CO, Jerry (EvVie) Linscheid, Jackson MN, Harry Linscheid, Lake City MN; sister-in-law Violet Piraino, Fredericksburg VA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rachel Earll; father-in-law Paul Linscheid; and both sets of grandparents.

Charlie will be sorely missed by his family and friends. The peace and blessed assurance we have as a family is that his pain is over and he is in the loving arms of Jesus. Praise be to the Lamb of God.
