Walter Gens
Lake Crystal resident, Walter Gens, age 93, died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at the Mapleton Community Home in Mapleton, MN.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal. Woodland Hills Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church Fund.
Walt was born April 20, 1916, to August and Frieda (Maus) Gens. He married Cornelia Jaeger, December 25, 1935 in Good Thunder. He was a farmer in the Lake Crystal area and in his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bowling.
He is survived by his wife Cornelia; 2 sons, Ronald Gens of Mankato, Marlin (June) Gens of Pequot Lakes; daughter, Jewel (Bob) Schoneck of Tucson, AZ; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
