Luella Alma Fette, age 92, of Waseca died on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at the Waseca Medical Center.
Born on June 29, 1917, in Meriden Township, Steele County, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Herman and Caroline (Abbe) Schuldt. She attended school in Meriden and was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Meriden. Luella married Melvin Fette on June 16, 1937, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Meriden. Together they lived and farmed in Otisco Township for over 40 years before moving into Waseca. She worked as a homemaker and also taught Sunday School for 15 years in addition to doing Telecare for over 20 years. Luella enjoyed quilting, gardening, watching the Twins, playing cards and fishing. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Meriden and the Ladies Aid.
She is survived by one son, Vernon Fette and his wife Connie of Elysian and their children Jeffrey, Jason, Brandon, Brian and Karen; one daughter-in-law, Carol Fette of Waseca and her sons Dennis, David and Lonnie; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son: Dale; two brothers: Robert and Bennie; and two sisters: Laura and Mabel.
Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Friday, November 20, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. and continue on Saturday, one hour before services at the church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Meriden with Rev. Gary Rusinko officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
