Donald E. Glamm, age 82, of St. Clair, died suddenly Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21st at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Smiths Mill, with Rev. Keith Bilitz officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery in St. Clair.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville and will continue on Saturday afternoon for one hour prior to services, at church.
Donald Eugene was born on June 13, 1927, in McPherson Township, Blue Earth County, to Otto and Esther (Schroeder) Glamm. Donald graduated from St. Clair High School in 1944. He entered military service in the U.S. Army in 1946 where he served in the medical corps until his honorable discharge in 1949. He returned home and on October 22, 1950 he was united in marriage to Marcella Bartlett in Titonka, Iowa. Donald raised and breed registered Holsteins, and crop farmed in McPherson Township until his retirement in 1996. That year Donald and Marcella moved into St. Clair. Donald was active in various organizations including, the St. Clair American Legion # 475, the Minnesota Holstein Association, and the Blue Earth County Human Services Task Force. He also complied and preserved a history of the South Central Holstein Association. Donald volunteered his time at Farmamerica, and was a member of the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Smiths Mill.
He is survived by his wife Marcella; by his son Dave (Audrey) Glamm of rural Janesville, and his daughter Joanne Glamm of LaMars, Iowa; by his grandchildren John (Beth) Glamm, Terry Glamm, and Tammy Glamm; three step-grandchildren: Denise Stowell, Monica (Dean) Myer-Javens and Maurie (Marissa) Stowell; and by his sisters Virgene Volkman of Waterville, and Carolyn (Curt) Hall of Big Fork.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his sister Lorene (Lester) Flemming, and his brother-in-law Alvin Volkman.

Mardy had been a resident at Sunrise Cottage of Mankato for the past 18 months. She was predeceased by her parents, the Reverend Harry W.
