Carolyn Onalee Case, age 66 of rural Garden City, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Butternut with Rev. Gene Alms and Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. A private burial will be in Garden City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Monday at Lake Crystal Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Garden City Christian Church, or the donor’s choice.
Carolyn was born September 20, 1943 to Einer and Ruie (Laingen) Hansen in Mankato, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Paul Case on September 19, 1965 in Butternut. Carolyn worked as a secretary with Lake Crystal Public School and also assisted with the family farm. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Butternut and attended Garden City Christian Church with her family. Carolyn was a 4–H leader for many years and enjoyed reading, sports, gardening, knitting, and raising her family.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Paul; three children, Brenda (Richard) Vonder Embse of St. Louis, MO; Aaron Case and fiancée, Amber Seaman and her son, Bailey of Garden City; Cathy (J.D.) Warling of Cedar Rapids, IA; brother, Kermit (Marilyn) Hansen of Lake Crystal; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Charlotte.

Margaret C. Buck, known to many as “Mardy”, died peacefully on February 18, 2010, at age 87 due to complications of dementia. Mardy had been a resident at Sunrise Cottage of Mankato for the past 18 months. She was predeceased by her parents, the Reverend Harry W. Buck and Anna Mayer Buck, her sister Lucy Buck Lehman, her brother-in-law Ken Lehman, and her devoted friend, Dr. Jane Ann Roberts.
