Irene Mary Hillesheim, 93, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye, MN. Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and on Friday from 7:30 to 10:00 AM.
There will be a Parish Rosary at 6:45 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 10:30 AM Officiant - Fr. Andy Michels Interment St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, MN.

Irene Mary Hillesheim was born on April 8, 1916 in Ray, ND to Frank & Susanna (Ludwig) Sherman. She grew up and attended school in Ray, later moving to be with family in Sleepy Eye. Irene married Clarence Joseph Hillesheim on May 5, 1938 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home and raised their family in Sleepy Eye. Irene worked at Haas Bakery, Del Monte Foods and Divine Providence Community Home. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, CCW, Christian Mothers and the Divine Providence Auxiliary. Irene enjoyed baking, canning, quilting, sewing, playing rummy and solitaire with her grandkids, genealogy of her and her husband's family and spending time with her family and friends. Irene had a devotion to the Blessed Mary and also prayed Adoration for many years.
She is survived by her sons, Anthony of Sleepy Eye, Wayne of Sleepy Eye, Delbert & wife Carol (Haase) of Sleepy Eye, Kevin & wife Beverly (Current) of St. Cloud, daughters, Madeline (Bobby J.) Toups of Leesville, LA, Karen (Steve) Lindemann of Willmar, Clarice (Stan) Rosin of Nicollet & Susan (Matthew) Reichard of Mt. Horeb, WI, daughter-in-law, P.J. Hillesheim of Minneapolis, 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, siblings, Frank (Josephine) Sherman of Billings, MT, Bob (Mary) Sherman of Choteau, MT, Lester (Mary Jo) Sherman of Hardin, MT, Don Sherman of Huntley, MT, Annie Vandeberg of Missoula, MT, Katherine Bayers of Los Angeles, CA, Madeline Furr of Van Nuys, CA, & Genevieve Zahller of Kalispell, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence, son, Peter, infant son, great-grandson, sisters Loretta and Lillian, brothers, Arthur, Florian, Edmund, Melvin & Cyril.
