Harriet Brude, age 84 of Mankato, died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Autumn Grace in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Jay Dahlvang officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in Rapidan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Landkamer Johnson-Boman Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.

Harriet was born April 18, 1925 to Hans and Olena (Haugen) Strand in Mankato, MN. She graduated from Rapidan High School. On October 26, 1955, Harriet was united in marriage to Paul Brude in Rapidan. She was a caring homemaker and nurses aide at Hillcrest Health Care Center. Harriet was a wonderful cook who provided so much for her family. She was dedicated to God, church, and her family and even maintained her Norwegian Heritage. Harriet was dedicated to many people in the community.

Harriet is survived by her six children: Joel Brude of Rapidan, Jan (Dave) Bateman of Mankato, Jill (Kevin) Krause of Rapidan, Jon (Kelly) Brude of Pueblo, CO, JP Brude of Good Thunder, and Jeanna (Dave) Sablatura of Bloomington; nine grandchildren: Melissa, Megan (Nick), Luke (Jessica), Lana, Chelsea, Danielle, Samantha, Cody, and Jake; four great-grandchildren: Kole, Isabella, Riley, and Jayden; sister-in-law, Vivian Strand; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul, and four siblings.
