Kenneth H. Meyer

On Sunday, December 20, 2009, a beautiful, peaceful, snowy morning, Kenneth H. Meyer, 90, was called to his heavenly home.

He was born on October 26, 1919, in rural Janesville to William and Martha (Rudolph) Meyer. He attended school until the eighth grade at District 1 School in Long Prairie, MN. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie in 1934. After moving back to Waseca in 1938, he started working for Martin Mittlestaedt a year later where he met his future wife. He was united in marriage to Lucille M. Mittlestaedt on July 20, 1941, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. They farmed their entire married life in Alton Township, Waseca County after they purchased their farm in 1944.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffin officiating. Interment will be in the Janesville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville, and will continue on Wednesday morning for one hour prior to services, at church.

Kenneth is survived by one daughter, Luane Adams and her husband Richard of rural Janesville; two sons, Larry Meyer of Waseca and Jeffrey Meyer and his wife Jolene of rural Waseca; by thirteen grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren, Jason and Kami Adams and their children Zachary and Emma (Sioux Falls, SD), Chad and Ann Adams and their children Alivia, Grant and Will (Rockford, MN), Kendra and Danell Hoehn and their children Regan, Brennan, Carter and Madeline (North Mankato, MN), Courtney and Ethan Anderson and their children Jonah, Ayden and Kyan (Greenville, NC), Lindsay and Phil Kagol (Lakeville, MN), Stacy and Nathan Brinkman and their children Kelsea, Tanner and Alexis (Waseca), Shannon and Scott Hedberg and their children Riley, Jordan and Ethan (Waseca), Shawn Meyer and his special friend Angie and Shawn’s son Cade, and Angie’s children Kiley and Arianna Zilm, Shelby and Terry McClune and their children Ryan, Camie and Madisyn (Waseca), Michelle Meyer (Mankato), Justina Meyer (Waseca); two sisters, Esther Trevethan (Littleton, CO), Leona Ewest (Waseca); two brothers, Marvin (Betty) Meyer (Oakdale, MN), Roland Meyer (Owatonna); two sister-in-laws, Alice Meyer (Buffalo, MN), Lorraine Erdman (Janesville); many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille in 1995; by one infant son, Duane; by one infant granddaughter; by one great-grandson, Jaden Adams; by his parents, William and Martha Meyer; one brother, Edwin; one sister, Lois; two sister-in-laws; four brother-in-laws.
