Dorothy D. Miller, age 79, of Mankato and formerly of Belview, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital, Mankato.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church, Belview, MN with Rev. Pari Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Belview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m., Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary with a 3 p.m. prayer service and will continue one hour before service at church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
Dorothy was born January 19, 1930, to Hubert and Bernice (Vaala) Bunting in Redwood Falls. She graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to Roger D. Miller on September 5, 1948 at the First Presbyterian Church, Redwood Falls. Dorothy had been employed at Miller’s Jewelry and Gifts of Redwood Falls from 1978-88. Dorothy was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Mankato, and was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, Belview, for over 50 years. She was active in the ladies aid, taught Sunday school, assisted with children’s choir, and summer bible school at Grace Lutheran. Dorothy enjoyed quilting, gardening, decorating, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Roger of Mankato; four children, Alan (Connie) Miller of Buffalo, Jeff Miller of Mankato, Jean (Wayne “Butch”) Fuder of Foxhome, MN, Connie (Tim) Ziegler of Mankato; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kami) Miller of Eagan, Greg and Mike Fuder of Foxhome, MN, Alexandra Miller, Nick and Cassie Ziegler, all of Mankato, David (Joy) Gess Jr. of Big Lake; great-grandchildren, Anna and Jake Miller, Kai Nickels, Alexis and Connor Gess; two sisters, Marj Miller of Alexandria and Mary Lou (Russell) Hanson of Winthrop; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Leonard Amberg.

Margaret C. Buck, known to many as “Mardy”, died peacefully on February 18, 2010, at age 87 due to complications of dementia. Mardy had been a resident at Sunrise Cottage of Mankato for the past 18 months. She was predeceased by her parents, the Reverend Harry W. Buck and Anna Mayer Buck, her sister Lucy Buck Lehman, her brother-in-law Ken Lehman, and her devoted friend, Dr. Jane Ann Roberts.
