Lifelong Mankato resident, Milton D. Devens, age 76, died Monday, January 4, 2010, at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato, MN.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, at Woodland Hills Chapel. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
Milton was born March 7, 1933, in Mankato, MN, to Sydna and Dora (Hennager) Devens. He married Mary Putz. He served his country in the Air Force Police. Upon his return he drove semi for his brother, Ray and other companies until 1965. He then went to work for Continental Can Company where he worked until his retirement. In his leisure time, Milton enjoyed cars, golf and watching television. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge.
Milton is survived by his wife, Mary of Mankato; 2 sons, Jeff (Joan) of Mapleton, Terry (fiancé, Sandy) of Cleveland; 6 grandchildren, Mike, Leah, Megan, Nick, Sean Devens and Jessica (Jon) Ball; 3 great-grandchildren, Madeline, Aiden, and Landon Ball; brothers, Ray (Lucy), Eugene; 1 sister, Amy Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sister.
